History
Lonsdale Rentals began in 1972 when the Baillie Family opened a 1200 square foot store on Lonsdale Avenue (hence the name)in North Vancouver, BC. This rental store focused on Tool Equipment Rentals and related services. From day one the company had instilled strong values of hard work, friendly service, and quality products.
Their commitment to their core values proved to be a successful combination and over the next 15 years they began to experiment with other rental items like tables, chairs, and dishes. These new "party" items slowly became more and more popular, and eventually were grouped into their own division. In 1988, 4 of the 5 locations were consolidated into the 16000 square foot location on 1st Street and Fell Avenue. Over the next 8 years the businesses grew and enjoyed success. In 1996 the Baillie Family sold both Lonsdale Events & Lonsdale Tool Rentals to two local North Shore businessmen. Over the next five years the company went through many positive transitions which greatly improved the internal infrastructure. The West Vancouver and Fell Avenue Tool Rental businesses were sold in 1997 to a larger Tool Rental Company located in Ontario.
In September of 2001, Lonsdale Event Rentals was sold to its General Manager of five years.
The purchase of Lonsdale Events was quickly followed by the large undertaking of relocating the operation to its present state-of-the-art custom built facility.
This new location has complimented our great team of approximately 30 full time professionals and approximately 20 seasonal associates. It has given us a work space to be proud of. With this move, we managed to double the warehouse size to 18,000 square feet, provided an improved in-house linen washing facility, kitchen wash area, proper loading docks, and a modernized showroom.
